*써클 윈도우, 퀄리티 호텔 [ Karolina Keyzer + Wingårdhs ] Quality Hotel Friends

때로는 멀리 있을때 더 잘 보일 경우가 있다. 이번 퀄리티 호텔 프로젝트의 독특한 파사드 디자인은 사이즈가 다른 3개의 원형 창문(1.4 / 1.7 / 2m의 3가지 직경을 가진 원형 윈도우) 을 규칙적인 패턴을 통해 배치, 반복함으로써 균질하면서도 무균질한 면을 생성시킨다. 북측 파사드를 기점으로 생성된 동심원은 물결의 잔향을 나타내며 원형 모듈 윈도우을 통해 구현된다. 그리고 각각 써클 윈도우는 개별적인 객실의 뷰포인트로 구분, 적용된다. 400객실로 이루어진 호텔은 바로 이웃한 65,000석 규모의 대형 아레나와 쇼핑몰을 위한 숙박시설로 주변시설과의 조화 속 독특한 캐릭터를 큰 힘 안들이고 슬기롭게 풀어내는 장점을 보여준다.

The house with thousand eyes creates an illusion; like waves from a point in middle of the northern facade. The image appears from a distance. It makes the stiff block soft, even wet. The impression is formed by windows in three different sizes: 1.4, 1.7 and 2 meters in diameter. The variations furnish the standardized rooms with a kind of individuality, especially in corners.

The 400-room hotel is built next to Friends Arena, a 65 000 seats sports and event venue, and the upcoming Mall of Scandinavia, a shopping mall designed by Wingårdhs. It is operated by Nordic Choice Hotels and designated for their business range sector, with special attention to conferences.
