호주 시드니에 빛의 축제가 열립니다. 올해로 4번째를 맞는 비비드 페스티발은

도시의 새로운 활력을 불어 넣습니다. 이것은 정체된 도시의 흐름을 다시 빠르게 순환시키는

기폭제 역활을 하며, 문화와 예술 그리고 공간을 한곳에 머무립니다.

5월말부터 6월 중순까지 17일동안 열리는 축제는 도시의 다양한 시티스케이프를

변화시킵니다. 특히 50여개의 설치물과 기념물 또는 시드니 오페라 하우스와 같이

랜드마크 빌딩위에 투영되는 프로젝션은 기존 공간의 아이텐티를 변화시킴으로써

활력이 넘치는 도시경관으로 새롭게 연출합니다.

또한 시드니 오페라 하우스에 펼쳐지는 장대한 스케일의 비디오와 모션 그래픽은

3차원 캔버스에 펼쳐지는 인터렉티브 미디어로 비비드 페스티발의 중요한 구심점 역활을 합니다.

지금 한창 페스티발이 열리고 있겠네요. 지금이라도 당장 비행기를 타고 가고 싶습니다.

Sydney is once again illuminated by the fourth annual Vivid’s Festival of Light 2012 that celebrates the creative industries with light shows, music, design ideas conferences and entrepreneurship conferences. The seventeen-day festival, which started on May 25 and will run until June 11th, features light shows and graphics projected on buildings, concerts, lectures and conferences. This round of light projections will have over 50 installations and includes cityscapes, street furniture, monuments and emblematic buildings like the Sydney Opera House.

URBANSCREEN projected videos and motion graphics in large-scale installations across the sails of the Sydney Opera House, creating a three-dimensional interactive canvas.  The projections invert the identity of the Opera House.  The cultural center as a home for music, dance and theater becomes the imagery associated with the facade.

Beginning at 6pm every night of the festival the city is illuminated in vibrant streaks of color that paint both the buildings and the street. The architectural highlights of the event are the large-scale light shows that are projected on building facades and on street elements throughout the city. Some of the architectural highlights include Sydney Opera House, Customs House and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Australia.

The Electric Canvas, a group of light projection specialists from Sydney, use the facade of the Customs House to present “City Life”.  Between the sights and sounds of people, cars and weather patterns the miniature city transforms over the course of six hours in a night.
