*위성도시내 공원 프로젝트 [ JMD Design ] Redfern Park

호주 시드니로 부터 약 60키로미터 떨어진 레드펌 공원은 1970년대 부터
추진해온 뉴 밴드 프로젝트 중 일부 입니다.
시드니를 배후에서 지원하는 위성도시를 만듬으로써 도심지의 밀도를 낮추며
주거생활의 쾌적성을 높입니다. 그 위성도시 지역 중 지역주민들의
커뮤니티와 편의를 위해 계획된 공공시설은 레드펌 공원과 같은 형태로
제안되며 거주민들의 쾌적한 주거환경을 보장합니다.
동서로 긴 형태를 띄고 있는 공원의 조닝은
크게 동측과 중앙 그리고 서측의 3부분으로 나누어집니다.
동측에는 지역에서 자생하는 자연수목림대를 형성하여
자연적 환경을 조성합니다.
그리고 중앙에는 거주민들을 위한 피크닉 및 여가활동을 즐길 수 있는
쉼터 공간으로 구성합니다.여기에 연계된 서측공원에는
노천극장과 놀이터 그리고 다양한 커뮤니티 스페이스를 배치함으로써
균형감 있는 공간 배치를 완성합니다.

이와같은 퍼블릭 스페이스의 조성은 인간 생활에서 있어서 가장 중요합니다.
이제는 삶의 양이 아니라 삶의 질을 생각해야 합니다.

Redfern Park is located in the suburb of Minto, 60 kilometres south-west of the Sydney CBD. Minto is an outer ring suburb currently undergoing a major urban renewal process as the result of changes to the State Governments public housing policy that is seeing the enclaves of the 1970’s being rebuilt as new socially diverse suburbs. The replanning of the Minto has delivered a new subdivision layout, which has created an opportunity for several new parks. The parks are intended to foster and encourage social cohesion and identity for the newly reconfigured suburb by contributing to a strong local identity and creating a mix of opportunities for recreation and social interaction. JMDdesign are designing six new parks in the suburb.

Redfern Park completed in November 2010 covers an area of approximately 2 ha on a sloping site. The eastern portion of the park is set aside for bush regeneration and planted with local species. The central portion allows for run-a-round and informal picnicking. The western portion of the park incorporates stormwater management measures in the form of gross pollutant traps, a rain garden and a large detention basin that doubles as an amphitheatre. Two steel bridges cross the rain garden to connect adjacent streets into the park and give access to the playground, the two picnic shelters and the yet to be completed community centre. The playground caters to a range of older age groups and occupies the western slope of the park adjacent to the future community centre. The playground twists and steps down the slope from the street to the amphitheatre providing a challenging and diverse play environment with a variety of spaces, edges and activity zones to encourage incidental gathering.
