포스터+파트너스의 템즈허브 비전

새로운 교통시스템은 영국을 더이상 고립된 섬나라가 아닌
국제적인 교통의 허브로 바꿀 것이다.
템즈강 하류에 계획될 템즈허브 비젼은 각나라간의 항공의 중추적인
역활을 하면서 철도와 육상교통을 빠르게 각 지역으로 연결하는 신개념의
네트워크로 토탈 교통시스템을 제안한다.
특히 기존 도시를 연결하는 새로운 철도시스템은 자연을 훼손시키지 않도록
선큰되어 설치되어 자연적인 경관뷰를 해치지 않으며 기존도로와의 차별적인
교통망을 통하여 과부하되어 있는 도시내의 혼잡한 교통량을 덜어 줄 것으로 예상된다.
그리고 강에 놓여진 브릿지 또한 수력발전을 동시에 수행하는
친환경적인 시스템이 적용되어 미래 차세대 에너지원으로도 활용될 전망이다.
이미 우리의 교통수단은 다중화 되어 트랜스퍼의 역활을 중요시 되고 있다.
항공기와 철도, 배 그리고 자동차 등 각기 다른 영역의 교통수단을 효율적으로 연결하는 것은
도시의 균형감이 있는 발전과 네트워크의 진일보된 시스템으로 미래의 우리 생활을
밝게 해줄 것이다.

생각하지 않을려고 해도 우리 4대강 사업과 비교되는 것은 어쩔 수 없다.
이 사업 또한 지역간의 긴말한 네트워크 구성으로 우리나라 네트워크의 중추적인 역활을
기대하기 위한 사업이다. 하지만 지금 우리에게 보여지는 4대강은 그리 밝지 만은 않다.
어쩌면 이것은 생각이 잘못됬다는 것이 아니라 방법이 잘못되었다는 생각이 든다.
사람들이 반대하는 것이 취지가 아닌 방법이라는 것을 왜 알지 못할까?
질문이 잘 못되었는데 해답을 찾아 낸다는 것이 얼마나 어리석은가…
정말이지 이러한 나의 생각이 단지 기우였으면 하는 간절한 기대를 걸어 본다.

the new estuary airport will be capable of handling 150 passengers a year, allowing the UK to retain its global aviation hub status. the airport is integrated within a logistics matrix that connects the surrounding ports by rail. exploiting railway construction allows for the bundling of utilities into a single corridor delivering the world's first national smart distribution network. improving the connectivity between the north and south of england will open new trade advancement for the UK to the europe.
