Rough & Ready, the experimental furniture collection by London based furniture designer Vanja Bazdulj, offers a truly magnificent high-quality dose of inspiration and innovation.
The models explore the potentials of the imperfect, human, unpredictable, the unfinished ‘finish’ look aesthetics and independence in work process. The ambiguity of the models form and the comforting sense that their design provides to the viewer makes Rough & Ready, a furniture collection that without doubt captures instantly someone’s attention. Vanja’s work will be presented during the Milan Furniture Fair 2011 (Ventura Lambrate with Designersblock).

Tailored cured sheets of different densities wool felt are assembled and tightened into place with rope, forming seating elements. The color fusion that you see on the industrial wool offers a playful and smart character to the deign. The ropes which hold the piece together further intensify this playful element and enhance its experimental configurarion! It looks like a 'DIY / Do It Yourself' collection which despite the spontaneity  that it inspires, is  sophsticated and extemely well-executed. All Rough&Ready models are flexible and can be altered according to client wishes and needs, be it in scale or colors.

About Vanja Bazdulj
After finishing the Faculty of Architecture in Ljubljana, Slovenia in 2008 and working for a year and a half as an architect, Vanja decided to explore and experiment on a smaller scale, working hands on and designing furniture objects. This led her to do a MA in Furniture design at The Cass, London in 2009/2010, where she is currently a Designer in Residence and is continuing her work.
