'이정도는 되야 디자인이지'하는 자랑스런 포즈는
살짝은 나를 민망하게 만들지만
쉽게 구현하기 힘든 가구이긴 틀림없다.
원래 나무가 가지고 있는 성격은 보기와 같이
자연적인 형상이지만 산업적인 제품을 구현하기 위해
많은 부분들을 정형화한 직선으로만 우리는 만나게 된다.
원래로 돌아가려는 회귀본능은
디자인도 사람도 마찬가지가 아닐까?
British designer/woodworker Edward Johnson has created the Volumptuous sideboard.
The sideboard will be on display as part of the 21st Century Furniture III exhibition (March 22nd to May 1st) at the Millinery Works gallery in London.
