중국 푸저우, 복잡한 구시가지에 위치한 아파트먼트 계획은 50%이하의 건폐율 조건을 비롯한 다양한 제약조건의 극복에서 시작됩니다. 이를 위해 45에서 110m2까지 다양한 주거유닛을 U자 형태로 배치합니다. 여기에 내외부; 이웃한 건물을 포함하는 도시환경과 마주한 외부와 새롭게 신설되는 내부 중정과 마주한 내부, 양쪽으로 각 주거의 개별적인 발코니를 연속합니다. 전체 건물의 외형적 캐릭터를 생성하는 발코니의 유연한 곡선은 이지역의 유명한 실-스톤(seal-stone) 또는 수석(shouxi-stone)를 은유적으로 표현하는 건축적 어휘의 적용으로 완성됩니다. 거주자에게는 내외부를 소통시키는 매개공간으로 전체 건물에게는 도시환경과 조우하는 심볼로 발코니 및 입면디자인이 적용됩니다.

The project is located on a complicated site, in the old city centre of Fuzhou, the capital of Fujian Province. With a Floor Area Ratio of 5,0 and many limiting conditions, a U-shaped floorpan manifested itself as optimum. The program required 400 apartments of 45-110 m2 in size, resulting in an stagering mass of identical units. Variety and diversity is created by manipulating the balconies around the building. Like the famous local ‘seal-stone’ or ‘shouxi-stone’, the balconies are crafted around the main building volume. This crafting creates a wide variety of individual apartments, each with their different exterior space.
On the ground floor, between the U-shaped volume, a collective ‘living-room’ for all inhabitants is created.
