A minimalist tea shop specializing in the unique process of hand dripping green tea has recently been added to Tokyo’s Sangenjaya neighborhood.

The interior of Tokyo Saryo features a simple bar centered on a concrete floor surrounded by stools made from black steel frames and wooden seats. The walls have been left bare and a drop ceiling holds both hidden lighting and small pot lights to create a soft glow throughout the space.

The tea shop’s main attraction is their minimal pour over-style tea drippers, developed by the owners of the shop.

Constructed from a copper base, a ceramic dripper, and a wooden holder, the simple tea makers have been designed to brew the perfect cup of green tea every time by allowing the tea leaves to sit in the water for just the right amount of time.

The back of the tea shop houses a small storage area and doubles as the food prep space for the few offerings they serve alongside their wide selection of various green teas.
