‘second dome’ has been commissioned for founders forum 2016 by second home — a selgascano-designed creative workspace and cultural venue that brings together different industries and disciplines. DOSIS has designed the installation to instantly respond to specific urban needs, quickly popping-up, assembling, and activating the city with little effort or energy required. ‘second dome’ is the only structure to have the ability to be assembled so quickly while maintaining the capacity to span large areas with a thickness of less than a millimeter. additionally, the structure automatically responds to wind and pressure, requiring extremely low quantities of energy for fabrication and assembly.
