스웨덴 거대 제약회사, octapharma의 새로운 비즈니스 환경을 위한 양조장 리노베이션 프로젝트는 시간으로 부터 분리된 어반보이드 시설을 현대생활에 적합하도록 변모시키는 일련의 과정을 담는다. 이를 통해 재구성된 비즈니스 환경은 사무공간을 포함한 미팅 공간과 컨퍼런스룸 그리고 대형카페테리아로 준비된다. 이를 위해 부적절한 요소들은 제거되고, 새롭게 단장되며 지금과 같이 6년이라는 시간타임이 적나라하게 드러나는 파사드를 완성하게 된다. -1890년대 건립된 양조장은 약 15년간 전성기를 누리다가 경제적인 상황에 의해 폐업, 지금까지 수많은 프로그램으로 활용되었다가 몇년전 부터는 아무도 사용하지 않고 방치된 채 버려졌다. 이를 제약회사에서 2009년도에 매입, 지금의 공간으로 탈바꿈하였다.-

the former brewery stands proudly in the western kungsholmen district of stockholm, sweden.
built in the early 1890s, after a 15 year peak, it faced economic
difficulty and eventually fell into bankruptcy. since then it has been
used in various ways, but years of neglect left the structure in a state
of severe disrepair.
in 2009, swedish conglomerate octapharma
purchased the site. the premises, largely constructed of wood is
ill-suited for production of the pharmaceuticals, but perfect for the
company’s quickly growing administrative infrastructure. extensive renovation was done by swedish architectural firm joliark, who worked in cooperation with stockholm’s planning authorities and city museum.
the building houses offices as well as numerous meeting spaces, conference rooms, changing quarters, and a large cafeteria. the façade underwent substantial remodeling, down to the assessment of each brick, which is evident by the project’s more than six year timeline. now renovated and inhabited, it has once again regained its former splendor.
