이번 프로젝트는 두가지 측면에서 살펴 볼만하다. 도시공간 속 건축물의 입지적 특징으로 도시구조를 연결하는 링크포인트 역활과 건축물 내부 프로그램과 주변 도시환경을 연결하는 매개공간의 구축이다. 이러한 건축환경은 내부의 주요한 3가지 프로그램의 컴팩트한 계획을 바탕으로 밀도 높은 디자인을 완성한다. - 밀도 높은 디자인은 메시브한 외형과 이를 구성하는 벽돌, 각 세대 채광을 위한 개구부에서 적나라하게 표출된다.- 그것은 한정적인 대지 공간 속에 이민자와 젊은 노동자를 위한 밀도 높은 -공간을 최대한 활용하는- 공동주거 확보와 그들의 자녀 또는 주변 이웃의 자녀를 위한 저층부 유치원 시설을 디자인 한다.
여기에 앞서 말한 두가지; 도시공간 속 링크포인트, 도시와 건축물을 연결하는 매개공간은 컴팩트한 건축물의 숨구멍? 으로 수평과 수직, 연결과 교류, 열림과 유입의 컨텐츠로 건축물 속에 삽입된다. 먼저 수평으로 구성된 3층부 퍼블릭 스페이스는 외부로 열린 전창이 수평으로 연속되며 도시의 파노라마뷰를 내부로 유입시킨다. 유입된 도시뷰는 다시 도서관, 헬스클럽, 공용주방으로 확장 거주민들의 활발한 교류활동을 지원한다. 그리고 각 레벨공간을 수직으로 관통 연결하는 코어를 통하여 자연채광을 유도, 건축물 내부를 풍성하게 연출한다. 그리하여 완성된 건축물은 도시공간 속 새로운 링크포인트의 타이폴로지를 정의하는 '어반 발코니'로 자리한다.

The new building features a triple program: homes for migrants and young workers and a kindergarten for 66 children at the ground floor.
Located in the twentieth arrondissement of Paris, it is a link with Lilas. Immersed in a topographic changing context (the périphérique on the backgorund, its coverage, the slope of the area, the arthouse cinema complex Etoile des Lilas), the building absorbs these altimetry as new references, creating its own system of “urban balconies” that dialogues with these new urban strata.

This very compact project with its several programs transforms the building into a real little machine for living. The density assumed by extremely rational plans (development and distribution studios) has two breaths, acting at the urban level as a point of view of applications.
The first is horizontal, formed by an open 3rd floor, it gathers all common facilities (library, gym, communal kitchen …) arranged freely on the tray lookout over the city. The second breath is a vertical fault that brings natural light in all horizontal (and vertical) circulations. In this regard, the architects encourage the use of public spaces (including stairs) which are viewed as places for sharing.
