건축언어의 적극적인 수용에서 프랑스에 위치한 공동주거의 디자인은 시작된다.
기하하적인 볼륨과 하늘이 투영된 파사드 패턴은 여기 공동주거에
계획된 어반 테라스-마치 테트리스의 조각처럼 주변 랜드스케이프와
짝을 이루며 동기화된다. 1960년대부터 이 지역의 특징적인 디자인 스타일로
공간을 강조하는 동시에 건축물의 캐릭터를 정의한다. 여기 생동감있는
컬러로 채색된 커팅볼륨은 이러한 디자인 흐름을 재현, 연장한다.-
와 맞물리면서 외형을 더욱더 드라마틱? 기하학적인 형상을 갖게 한다.
글래스 파사드는 여름철 태양열로 부터 내부공간을 보호하는
동시에 자연환기를 유도하는 장치로 디자인된다.
그렇게 지역적 환경이 반영된 두가지 형태론은 저층부에 보행자의
안전한 보행공간 확보를 위한 필로티공간과 공동주거의 디자인
아이텐티 구축을 위한 어반테라스 조합으로 구성된다.

a new design by nicolas de mazieres and anouk legendre use the principals of volumetric forms to create a veritable, consolidates architectural language. the built form takes on a graphic sensibility
as it breaks down the space of the skyline in ' nanterre apartment
blocks.'urban terraces are deconstructed into a landscaped negative of
large-scale tetris-like composition. in the context of the andre
wogensky prefecture, an area characterized by 1960's large scale modernist blocks that
emphasize space, height and geometry, the nanterre apartments absorb the historically prefabricated and streamlined forms while cutting its
volumes with vibrant color. the assembly of spaces is additionally clad
in a fritted glass facade that protects from solar heat gain and
naturally ventilates in the summer. the two sides of the complex are
informed by the movement of light in the french province; low cuts across a
neighborhood street complement the higher terraces that identify the
avenue decks all while connected at a unified base. the block is completed by a
network of interior circulation that leads to numerous vegetable gardens
and green roofs, a gesture which restores the domestic scale to the work and cultivates a camaraderie between neighbors.
