'미들 이스트 센터' 프로젝트는 옥스포드 내 위치한 안토니 대학의 문화 부흥 프로젝트로

그중 브릿지 하우스 파빌리온 디자인을 포함하고 있다.

19세기 지어진 클래식한 두동의 캠퍼스를 잇는 브릿지 하우스는 1,200 스퀘어 미터 공간안에

도서관, 연구센터, 오디토리움, 카페, 개별 열람실로 구성된 문화, 교육관련

프로그램으로 제안된다. 이러한 내부공간은 유기적인 스트럭쳐 위에 이음새 없이

매끈한 스테인레스 스틸로 마감된 볼륨 속에 위치한다.

거기에 비틀어진 브릿지하우스의 형상은 주변의 시공간을 흡수하여

응축시키는 공간적 다이나믹함을 표출하기도 한다.

the newest addition to st. antony's college in oxford broke ground yesterday, starting the construction process for the new 'middle east center' by acclaimed architect zaha hadid. the bridge building will house a new library, research center, stacks, auditorium, cafe and individual reading rooms in 1200 square meters suspended between two existing archives originally built in the early 19th century on the university's campus, and will be a key facility supporting the interdisciplinary study of contemporary middle eastern culture. an almost seamless stainless steel skin wraps the organically fluid structure reflecting a distorted version of the world around it. a series of skylights illuminated the reading area on the second level, and frame-less glass panels enclose the sunken courtyard facing the quads.
